Snow Cat Skiing and Snowboarding

Cat skiing and Snowboarding are what we have built the business around . Experiencing our legendary terrain and snow is one of life's "must do's". From single-day trips to multi-day powder extravaganzas, we have what you need.

Cat skiing by the Day
A great way to try cat skiing and experience some deep powder is a day trip up to Island Lake Lodge. The day starts with us picking you up in our parking lot, located 15 minutes from Fernie. We then give a avalanche transceiver, some training and then we head up to ski and snowboard some fresh powder. Food and drinks are available in the cat throughout the day. The day ends with apres in the bear lodge and a cat-ride back down to the parking lot.
Dayskiing usually happens in the early and late season. Call the office or join our day-skiing list

Winter Lunch & Spa
Take a snowcat ride up to the lodge and experience our winter wonderland.  Enjoy a hearty lunch in our Tamarack dining room and then head down to the Spa for a treatment of your choice.  Spa treatments are available on Fridays and Saturdays only.  The Cat ride and Lunch is $79.  Winter Lunch and Spa needs to be booked at least 24 hours in advance.  Check out a sample lunch menu

Ski Touring

Island Lake is pleased to now offer cat-assisted, guided ski touring on our 7,000-acre property during April 2012.  A great mix of terrain including: alpine bowls and ridges, perfectly gladed trees and spectacular peaks make Island Lake a superb backcountry-touring destination.
