Event: Island Lake Photo Shoot Out
Place: Island Lake Lodge and Powder Cowboy, Fernie B.C
Date: March 23, 24, 25 2009.

The 2nd annual Photo Shoot Out at Island Lake and Powder Cowboy is an exciting opportunity for up and coming pro photographers, skiers and boarders to break onto the scene during a 3 day catskiing competition throughout Island Lake's world renowned terrain. Untracked powder and the dramatic Lizard Range of the BC Rockies make Island Lake and Powder Cowboy the ultimate locations for an event like this.

9 photographers will be chosen and be given the opportunity to hand pick three athletes to shoot over the 3 days. After a full day of shooting, a panel of industry judges will decide on the best photographs each day. Judging categories will include: best air, best composition, most unique and best lifestyle image. The best photos, along with other categories such as people's choice, will be awarded daily with prizes supplied by our industry partners. Over $10,000 in prizes will be given out during the event.

Steve Kuijt, guide and general manager of Island Lake Lodge explains the purpose of the event: "This is a fantastic opportunity for both grassroots photographers and athletes to gain exposure and ride the epic terrain at Island Lake."
