For many years Island Lake Lodge has showcased organic local products in our cuisine. This year our kitchen is proud to take the green mindset further in an effort to reduce our environmental impact. Wherever possible we use only local & organically grown produce. We also source fruit & vegetables from our community farmers market. As well we use only the highest quality organic, free run, grass & grain fed non-medicated meat & poultry from a variety of suppliers in the Western Canada region. Island Lake proudly supports the local economy thus shortening the distance our food travels which helps to reduce carbon emissions & greenhouse gases.
Starting this year we will only carry wild fish & seafood that is abundantly available and caught in a sustainable, environmentally responsible way. It is our hope that you the customer will take as much enjoyment in this conscientious style of eating as we do in its preparation. As chefs, we will continually strive to reduce our environmental footprint, excited to be on a journey of awareness, discovery, stewardship & change with you, the dining public.
