With powder skiing as our goal K2 has fulfilled all our needs with the K2 GotBack, Side Stash and the Pontoon for the wild deep days. If snowboarding is your game, the Burton Malolo makes boarding easy in the powder. All skis and snowboards are included in the package at Island Lake and Powder Cowboy Catskiing! Pontoon

Everyone’s favorite fatty, the beloved 2009 K2 Apache Pontoon Ski is back in your face for more freakishly fun action. The brainchild of freeriding legend Shane McConkey, the K2 Apache Pontoon is designed for flotation, but with an innovative blueprint that challenges conventional thinking behind ski engineering. With its massive dimensions, surf-inspired rocker, and powder-specific sidecut that tapers toward the tail, the 2009 Apache Pontoon is the same—an easy-to-ski powder weapon. An imposing tip width of 160mm combined with an equally impressive waist width of 130mm ensures the tip of the K2 Apache Pontoon will stay above surface at all times. And while technically a powder ski, the Pontoon delivers sidecut where you need it most—right underfoot—for maneuverability on firmer conditions or just to get back to the lifts for a second lap. The ultimate high-performing powder tool, the 2009 K2 Apache Pontoon Ski is built to plane…and win popularity contests.

Tapered Tail- The shape of the Pontoon ski tapers down from tip to tail.

Powder Rocker Design- Designed specifically for powder, this Pontoon ski incorporates sidecut into the design where you need it most, right under foot, for maneuverability on firmer conditions or just to get back to the lifts for a second lap. Powder Magazine Reverse Camber Article

TRIAXIAL BRAIDING: This unique method produces skis that have a great deal of torsional rigidity and strength, while maintaining all the lively characteristics of a wood core ski.

TORSION BOX CONTROL: The Torsion Box Construction is the foundation for the widest range of skis designed by K2. The Pontoon Skis share the common traits of ease, forgiveness, responsiveness, and energy that can be found in all Torsion Box skis.
Single ski weight size 179cm: 2441g or 5.38 lbs

Burton Malolo Snowboards

The Maolo is the board of choice for powder and all mountain boarding. The S rocker design helps maintain momentum through deep turns and variable conditions. This means more speed, control and maneuverability with less effort. Great edge hold and added strength are provided by the wood grain positioned along the toe and heel edges, perpendicular to the wood core.  Thinner sections of core between the bindings give softer flex and torsion making the Malolo ideal over a variety of conditions and terrain. A light nose, tapered shape and set back stance promote flotation and eliminates rear leg burn in the deep powder. Island Lake has an assortment of boards ranging from 149 cms to 166 cms in length.  We do recommend that you bring your own snowboard binding for the best fit.
