September provides some excellent hiking weather. The berries are out up at the Lodge. Consider hiring a guide to learn about edible plants and the wildlife of the region. Don't forget to check out the Pika in the alpine who are busy collecting and drying vegitation to keep them fed for the long winter ahead!

Thanks so much for showing me a sampling of the berries Fernie has to offer. I can't beleive I had never tasted a huckleberry before! The views from the Baldy loop were great, walking towards the "Wolverine" section of the mountain was beautiful indeed.
